About Rogers Foundation for Person-Centred Education

Rogers Foundation for Person-Centred Education is a non-profit public benefit foundation based in Budapest, Hungary. It was established in. The Foundation’s work is inspired by the humanistic psychology of Carl R. Rogers, particularly his belief that every person has intrinsic value and the capacity to understand and fulfil themselves through lived experience, authentic relationships, and positive regard.

The core mission of the Foundation is to raise awareness of the importance of acceptance and person-centred relationships and provide spaces and activities where individuals can experience authentic engagement, growth, and mutual respect. Originally focused on operating the Rogers Person-Centred Secondary School, the Foundation has broadened its scope over time to include a wide range of educational, experiential and capacity-building activities at both national and international levels.

Key areas of activity include:

1. Education and Learning Programmes: Rogers Academy: The successor to the original secondary school, offering an alternative educational pathway for young people seeking person-centred learning environments from 2013 to 2023.

2. Talent development programmes for youth, functioning as a registered Talent Point.

3. Projects & Thematic Initiatives: Over the years the Foundation has designed and implemented more than 50 educational and developmental projects in areas such as: drama pedagogy, arts therapy, free play, emotional intelligence development, systems thinking and sustainability education, leisure time pedagogy and e-learning, inclusion and equal opportunities, employability skills , person-centred organisational development. These projects typically integrate experiential, participatory and person-centred approaches tailored to diverse learner groups.

4. Public and Adult Education: The Foundation engages in educational activities for adults also: educators and pedagogical professionals, including workshops, training, and professional development grounded in person-centred philosophy.
